"In my psychiatric practice, I am constantly reminded that salutogenesis, as one of the most important integrative health concepts, is optimally supported by multimodal treatment programs in and with nature.

Contact with forests and nature can be helpful in all phases of treatment. For example, it can help the patient to effectively distance themselves from a stressful home environment. It can support isolating and shielding the patient from the duties and demands of their profession. It can promote the creation of a sustainable, trusting relationship between patient and practitioner. The forest is an excellent co-therapist.

In general, the further our lives move away from nature, the more important nature becomes for our psychological balance. We feel this as soon as we go out into nature. In particular, the largest natural space in our culture, the forest, helps us to rediscover our inner nature. Alone or with therapeutic accompaniment."
